THE FIGHTER

                       THE FIGHTER

A Wonderful movie ‘The Divine Ponytail’, teaches us that in this world we can only control the controllable, in life, we sometimes try too hard to get to the destination that we forget to enjoy the journey and the little moments in life. What Roberto Baggio signifies is that no matter what life throws at you must have the courage to get back up and keep on fighting. We are talking about a man who was considered the ‘Maradona of Italian Football’ and someone who was destined to win Italy the world cup in 1994, but god and fate had other plans. He ended up missing the decisive penalty in the shootout of the 1994 world cup final against Brazil, yes that would have broken his heart because, at the end of the day, even the greatest players are also human. Roberto Baggio still got back up from that and kept on trying, he tried his best to play in the 2002 world cup in Japan and South Korea, but an injury right before the world cup spoiled his chances, anyone would take 8 months to come back, but he came back just in 3 months that was the dedication this great man had. Although he couldn’t make the squad for the world cup, he gave everything that he had and everything humanly possible. This is the kind of fighting spirit that we need in life. An example of a man who gave everything to the process and detached himself from the results that’s why the Italian people still love him and he didn’t let that penalty miss in the 1994 world cup final define him.
